Description: Gumtree Cottage is private and self contained located just 4 minutes from Greytown, set amongst the rural landscape on a small farm with pet sheep, pigs (Gertie & Peppa), chooks, dogs ( Mitzy & Ruby), Tink the short haired Persian and our Broodmare Lilly. Lilly's first foal Anniesstar has now won five races, so exciting to watch the first horse you have bred cross the finish line in first place! we are still buzzing with the joy of it. Anniesstar is now six years old and after resting is back in training for a spring campaign, Kingie & Jack are both in training and have won races this year and Coco is busy growing up she is two years old now. Lilly will go back to stud in the next 10 days, and in a month or so time we will have a beautiful new foal! Betty has just had twin lambs one black and white the other white and they are so cute..... (The owners are available and on site if needed). The cottage has everything you need and is designed to be a home away from home, comfortable luxury from the fine cotton sheets to the fluffy big towels, outdoor spa with robes to relax in. The kitchen is equipped with all you could need, to stay in and cook a meal or BBQ outside, relax with a DVD or Sky TV, or 4 minutes drive, or bike (available) into Greytown to experience our fabulous Cafes and Restaurants most offer a courtesy pick up service. Greytown is centrally located to visit our fine boutique wineries in Martinborough, easy access to walks in the Tararua Forest Parks, Fly Fishing in our beautiful rivers, day trips to both the lake and the coast. Visits available on request to a working farm. Very relaxing & peaceful. The hosts pete & chrissie were approachable & friendly. The little extras such as champagne & chocolates were a lovely surprise. Will definitely re-book in the future & recommend to everyone we know. perfect spot for a family We stayed there with our 2 1/2 y old girl and we all loved it. The cottage is warm and very inviting, such welcoming hosts, we were surprised to find bubbles, fruits and more for us to enjoy. Our wee girl was just over the moon with all the animals close by. Just booked us in for another long weekend. . Enjoyed our stay! - lovely place to relax. Great outdoor area, enjoyed the spa and bubbles. Thank you :). This is probably one of the best places we ever stayed in, right down to the fine detail and lovely touches. Out in the quiet country and so close to greytown, best of both worlds! we will definitely be back!. |
